6 Excellent Floor Design Software Options (Free Visualizers)

Installing a new floor? A great way to figure out the best flooring for your room or home is to start with a flooring visualizer software platform. We feature 6 free options here.

New flooring can make a huge difference in any room.

But the difference can be good or bad.  You never really know.  Generally, hardwood is a pretty safe bet, but should you get light, medium or dark?

When it comes to carpeting, do you go neutral or something with a bit of color?  Same with tile – what do you do?

One way to help decide is to use floor design software, aka flooring visualizers.  There are several good ones, all online and all available for free.

We scoured the Web for good options.  Found a handful and set them out below.

National Wood Flooring Association Software

This online tool allows you to design certain parts of the house for free. In the first tab, you will select the room style and specify whether it is the living room, kitchen, hallway, or bedroom. There are provided images that you can readily redesign yourself. Users are allowed to upload their own photo of a certain room but it is required to create a free account first. If you already have an account, all you need to do is sign in with your registered email and password.

In the next tab, you will see the flooring options, which is what this tool is best for. Choose the wood flooring and the type of the product, which includes options like Oak, Ash, Birch, Red Oak, and Cherry. The online tool also lets you select the grade whether it is prime, natural, rustic, or heavy rustic depending on the product type.

Another nice feature is that you can change the color of the cabinets, walls and countertops so that you can see how different colors work with different flooring types.

Carpet One Floor Visualizer
