Follow This Home Selling Checklist to Go From “For Sale” to “Sold”

Between now and 2040, millions of homes in the US are predicted to become unsellable.

If you are worried that your house may become one of them, it’s time to do something about it.

In this article, we’ve created a home selling checklist so that you can make sure your home goes from on sale to sold in no time. Let’s get started:

1.Find the Perfect Real Estate Agent

Before you even put your house on the market, it’s vital that you find a real estate agent with whom you have a good rapport.

You want to feel that they are hard-working, fair, honest, and won’t be ripping you off or underselling your home. A good real estate agent will be able to tell you how to sell your house quickly.

Speak to a few different real estate agents before you decide on one. You should also check reviews and references before you commit!

2.Put Your Furniture in Storage

Do you have a very out-there style? Are you a lover of crazy patterned rugs? Now is not the time to be showing off your unique taste.

You want to make sure that you pair down your home furnishings and clutter. Give your house a very good tidy and clean before every viewer comes knocking.

3.Repaint the Walls a Neutral Color

Does your home need a little TLC? Surprisingly, a coat of paint can go a very long way in improving the look of your house. You could either hire professionals or do this yourself.

By touching up the skirting boards, walls, and cupboards, your house will look brand new, encouraging buyers to put in an offer. No one wants a dark, damp home.

Choose a color that is simple and minimalist, such as white or cream. Your viewer will then be able to imagine what the house will look like with their own possessions.

4.Curb Appeal Is Real

You’ll likely have heard of curb appeal before but you may be surprised by what a difference it can make on people’s impression of your home.

If someone is driving by and sees a for-sale home, they are very likely to stop and look. You need to ensure your home is inviting so that they want to look around.

Curb appeal means mowing the lawn, ensuring the yard looks tidy, touching up any paintwork on the house, and lighting up the front of the house in the evenings.

Follow This Home Selling Checklist

Before you try to sell your home, make sure you sit down and write out a home selling checklist.

This should include all of the jobs that need doing. Put deadlines next to the tasks so that everything will be done before viewers are in your home!

If you need more simple solutions for how to improve the appeal of your house, then ask your real estate agent. This is part of their job!
